Lullaby Jen

I have discovered that I'm really, really good at making up lullabies on the spot. I am hesitant to reveal them to you here, since they're so good, but I guess I'll do it. consider them copyrighted by this blog.

I've included the musical notation for those who read notes. Also, i am lame-tastic at notation.

One song called "Baby" goes like this:

1st verse:
Baby

baby baby baby

baby baby baby
baby baby boy. (this verse sung while babe was in utero. I was just as creative then)

2nd verse:
Baby
sweetie sweetie honey

honey honey pretty

pretty pretty boy

3rd verse:

Love you

love you love you love you
do i really love you?

yes i think i do

(repeat 70 times)

Another song is called
"Julian." It goes like this:

Julian

Julian

Julian.

Honey pie

sweetie pie
of my life

Julian

optional verse:
sleepy boy

go to sleep

sleepy face
.
honey pie

sweetie pie

go to sleep

sleepy sleep...

This song doesn't really end. It just goes on and on, one continual round. It's hard to know how to stop, much like "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" was for me when i was about 4. Where the song ends, i just kept right on going. "
..up above the world so high..."

I liked to sing that song from the Disney movie "The Rescuers," except I'm not sure of all the lyrics, so I'd fill it in, and then make up additional verses.

I'm not creative enough to make up tunes, though. Lucky Julian! (Are you still practicing with your band? Are any of these new songs going to be recorded???)

Wow, that's pretty impressive. I think I'll whip out my violin after Samuel's nap and try them out. :0)

My favorite song to sing to Samuel was always Candle on the Water from Pete's Dragon. But that's super awesome that you write your own - can I purchase one someday??

My favorite is "Baby". I mean, those lyrics - WOW! So descriptive. :)

But really, I'm sure your little boy just loves every sound that comes out of your mouth. Well, maybe we can subtract a few sounds like burps (probably doesn't LOVE those) and sneezes (can be scary for some babies).

except for my sneezes. My sneezes are like fairies singing.

Um... Sean had me really excited about doing some illustrations for your music at the pie bake off. That was weeks ago now. I'll go over this optional sleepy boy verse...
